ArisGen addresses unresolved problems in the pharmaceutical use of peptides and proteins.

ArisGen is focused on enhanced protein therapeutics and the non-invasive delivery of peptides and proteins. The use of peptides and proteins as therapeutic agents is limited by a shortage of effective means of delivery other than injection. Peptide and protein therapeutics are further disadvantaged as drugs if they produce an immune response and by the difficulty of achieving high bioavailability into the systemic circulation due to enzymatic degradation.

ArisGen proposes solutions to improve protein drug delivery and therapeutic treatment based on proteins. Other companies have already partially addressed these problems by irreversibly binding polyethylene glycol molecules (PEG) or other polymers to the therapeutic protein. A major disadvantage of this method is often the attenuation of protein activity by obstruction of the active sites.

ArisGen possesses proprietary technologies to improve peptide and protein biopharmaceutical properties via reversible esterification as well as a novel and innovative formulation platform technology. These techniques permit (i) the enhancement of peptide and protein biopharmaceutical properties, (ii) the control of drug delivery into the organism and (iii) the use of non-invasive delivery routes for administration.

ArisGen’s proprietary platform technologies have been developed by Dr. Paolo Botti, former Principal Scientist at Gryphon Therapeutics (S.San Francisco, CA, USA) and Director of Synthesis at Geneprot (Geneva, Switzerland).
